Census Jobs are Available
The 2010
Census is seeking workers, and the job pays $17.75 per hour in Chester and
Delaware Counties. Hundreds of thousands of temporary workers are needed across
the country to fill Census positions. The Census Bureau hires local workers
because they know their communities best and often have much in common with
others living there. Most hiring will take place in spring.
Census
takers work in their own communities locating households, explaining the
purpose of the Census, conducting brief personal interviews and recording
responses on paper forms. The job
requires people to work when most people are typically at home, which includes
evening and weekend hours.
The Census
count is used to decide how to distribute billions in federal funding to states
and localities for education, community health care, public transportation,
housing and more.
