Signing Up for Freedom
This Summer we will focus on the New Testament book of Colossians.  In many ways this theme is about breaking free from the influence of empire.  In its original setting Paul focused on the uniqueness of Jesus and the way allegiance to him was incompatible with allegiance to Caesar.  He was also fighting a Jewish/Greek religious empire which sought to add requirements to the simple message about Christ.  We will ponder contemporary versions of Caesar as we move towards a great sense of freedom and life that flows only from Christ.
